"Proud of our Past and Confident of our Future" says a lot about the heart and soul of Sauk Valley Angus. Sauk Valley Angus is the purebred Angus division of Sandrock Farms, which is a family, owned and operated business by Gary and Kathy Sandrock and Family. Gary's family came to Illinois in the 1880s from Germany, and Kathy's family came in the 1800s. Five generations later Sauk Valley Angus is operating in the heart of corn country in northwest Illinois in Rock Falls, which is located in the center of the Rock River Valley. Gary and
Kathy have 5 children. Ben, a graduate of the University of Illinois,
is the herd manager of 450 cows at Sauk Valley Angus. Ben and his wife
Traci have three children, Brianna, Sean and Conner, and reside in
Tampico. Matt, also a graduate of the University of Illinois, heads up
the crop division of the farm growing corn, soybeans, peas, sweet corn,
wheat and alfalfa. Matt and his wife Mandy have two children, Grace and Denver and reside in Sterling. Gary and Kathy's other
children Nathan, Zach, and Faith live at home. As the family's 7th generation is entering the farming and ranching world, their involvement in the Angus business is a high priority. Jay serves on the American Angus Association Board of Directors, and Gary serves on the Illinois Angus Association Board. Sauk Valley Angus' Annual Female Sale is the first Saturday in December and the annual Bull Sale is the fourth Saturday in March. Sauk Valley Angus welcomes anyone and everyone to visit the farm and the cattle herd. Give us a call, or stop by; the coffee is always on! ![]() |
